  • What is the bCreative boot camp?
    A dynamic opportunity for students to learn about the ins and outs of the advertising and PR industries and how it drives products and business. Participants engage in immersive hands-on experiences at Kastner & Partners’ Los Angeles advertising agency.  Students learn about a industry, the type of work professionals do within that industry, explore company culture and discover a vast array of career paths. It also is a unique opportunity to learn how to think creatively, collaborate effectively and express oneself.
  • What is the purpose and goal of the camp?
    The primary goal of the program is to provide an invaluable experience in the creative industries like advertising and PR. Participants will have an opportunity to explore an array of topics from idea and media development and production to branding, consumer insights and marketing. With leading industry professionals as mentors participants create and pitch their own projects.
  • When and where is the camp being held?
    The camp will be held at Kastner & Partners in Los Angeles, CA. The dates are Monday, August 7th through Wednesday, August 9th from 8:30 am ~ 4:30 pm.
  • Who should participate in the boot camp?
    High school level girls across disciplines interested in learning about creating and developing advertising campaigns as well as marketing and PR strategies. *NOTE: If this is the summer a rising high school freshman or are a recent graduate, you are welcome to apply.
  • How does the boot camp work?
    Teams are formed based on diverse interests and skill level after application evaluation. Each team member should bring different skills to the table such as marketing, production, visual design, advertising, business, PR, project management, etc.
  • What if I don’t have any experience in the subject?
    No prior knowledge or experience is required. If you are willing to learn and are full of ideas, there are people eager to teach you what you need to know while putting your creativity in motion.
  • When and where do I register for the camp?
    Those interested in attending the 3-day bCreative experience can simply fill out the
    Pre-registration form. Don’t forget to include a link to video (1 minute or less) stating “Why attending the bCreative boot camp is important to you and what you can contribute to the experience?
  • What is the cost of the camp?
    The camp is 100% free! All we ask for your enthusiasm, honest efforts, collaborative spirit and positive attitude. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
  • How many applicants are invited to the camp?
    We will invite 30 high school level girls. We will also have a waiting list in the event an applicant we’ve invited is unable to participate.
  • What’s the criteria for being invited to the camp?
    A committee of professionals will invite applicants based on aspects like; skill, interest
    and the answer to the application question provided in your 1 minute or less video, stating “Why attending the bCreative boot camp is important to you and what you can contribute to the experience?”
  • When will applicants be notified if they are accepted?
    We will send invitations to participants no later than July 7th.
  • Is there transportation and lodging available?
    Unfortunately, we are unable to provide transportation and lodging. Participants must be local and be able to provide their own transportation to and from the camp. The camp is from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
  • Is there a waiting list?
    Yes, we call this our reserve list and the applicants on this list will be notified of any changes immediately. If an applicant does not show the day of the event, the next available applicant on our reserve list will be able to participate in their place. Thus reserve applicants must also be prepared to participate upon short notice and even arrive at the location the day of. Those who are on the reserve list will be notified of their status prior.
  • What should I bring to the camp if invited?
    Please bring a laptop, power supply, and above all else your energy, collaborative spirit and brainpower. If you don’t have a laptop computer, a loaner can be provided. Upon acceptance into the program please let us know if a loaner is needed.
  • What project must be complete during the camp?
    During the camp teams develop an advertising campaign using on-line resources, graphics, photos, videos and other resources. At the end of the camp teams will be expected to showcase their concepts and pitch their strategies.
  • Will there be prizes?
    There will be prizes presented to the concepts and pitches with the highest scores at the end of the camp. All participants will receive swag and other cool stuff.
  • How will the concepts and pitch presentations be judged?
    A panel of judges will evaluate the ad campaign based on several criteria: overall concept, adherence to assignment and client needs, campaign viability, strategy, ingenuity and execution.
  • Who are the judges?
    Judges are industry leaders and top executives across industries.
